Chito Victolero gets coaching offer from Japan B.League

Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero has a pending offer to coach in Japan B. League.

The 46-year old native of Santa Maria, Bulacan confirmed during an interview with Homer Sayson of SPIN.ph that he was indeed contacted by an international sports management firm about the possibility of him moving over to the fledging league.

Despite being flattered, Victolero remained non-committal and insisted that his priorities for now are ‘God, country, his family and the Hotshots’.

Sources claim that the offer is worth between $10,000 to $15,000, significantly higher than the former PBA player’s current monthly take of around P300,000. The amount, however, may escalate to $25,000 to $30,000 depending on his performance.

Aside from Victolero, the source added the Phoenix coach Topex Robinson is also being eyed as an assistant coach which, on the other hand, has a base salary of around $5,000 to $6,000.
