Magnolia picks up free agent guard Adrian Wong

Adrian Wong is moving over to Magnolia.

The 5th overall pick in the 2019 PBA rookie draft, who was not given a contract extension by Rain or Shine, has agreed in principle to join the Hotshots, as per SPIN.ph sources.

Terms of the deal are still being worked out by Wong’s representation, sports agent PJ Pilares of Titan Management Group, and Magnolia.

TMG earlier took to Instagram to express gratitude to the Elasto Painters for drafting the former Ateneo standout and giving him a chance to showcase his skills in the pro league.

“Shoutout to Rain or Shine for drafting Adrian Wong and being given an opportunity to showcase his first two years in the league,” wrote the agency.

Wong saw action in all 12 games of Rain or Shine in his maiden conference and contributed 4.6 points per outing. He registered a career-high 15 markers, 8 coming in the payoff period, in the team’s win over NorthPort on October 18, 2020.

The 6-foot-3 wingman played 5 games for the Chris Gavina-mentored squad in the stalled 2021 Governors’ Cup and averaged a measly 1.6 points in 8 minutes of action.
