Magnolia def Rain or Shine, 103-88 [PBA on Tour | July 15, 2023]

The top honors in the PBA On Tour belong to the Magnolia Hotshots.

Coach Chito Victolero and his crew assured themselves with the best record in the preseason series as they repulsed the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 103-88, in their road showdown at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete Saturday.

Jio Jalalon and Jerrick Ahanmisi played the lead roles as they outplayed and outgunned the Elasto Painters to keep their perfect mark with just two games left in the tour.

Regardless of the outcome of their last two outings versus Phoenix Super LPG and Terrafirma, the Hotshots are sure to finish as the best performing team in the series presented by Arena Plus and sponsored by Bingo Plus.

With their loss in the Dumaguete Saturday special, the Elasto Painters dropped to 6-2, closely followed by the Blackwater Bossing at 6-3 then the Meralco Bolts at 6-4.

Even with Rey Nambatac and Nick Demusis joining Gabe Norwood in the sidelines, Rain or Shine actually came out strong and took the opening quarter at 27-18.

The Hotshots, however, cranked it up to seize control in the second quarter, sustained a good run in the third, and poured it all in the final period to win the game convincingly.
