The San Miguel juggernaut continues to roll on, as they clinched another impressive victory against Magnolia in a thrilling showdown at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Despite facing a furious rally from their opponents, the league-leading Beermen managed to secure a 98-91 win in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup.
Leading the charge for San Miguel were CJ Perez and veteran Chris Ross, who stepped up in crucial moments to maintain their undefeated streak at eight games. Perez showcased his scoring prowess with 25 points, including a clutch three-pointer that extended their lead to 98-89 with less than 30 seconds remaining. Ross, known for his defensive skills, surprised everyone with a conference-high of 15 points, fueling the team’s strong finish with key three-pointers.
Coach Jorge Gallent and his team demonstrated their dominance over Magnolia, the same team they defeated in the previous Commissioner’s Cup finals.
With this victory, the Beermen achieved an impressive 8-0 start, a feat not seen since TNT’s undefeated run of 13 games in the 2014 Commissioner’s Cup.
This win also halted the Hotshots’ four-game winning streak, pushing them down to joint third place with NLEX.

On the other side, Paul Lee led Magnolia with 23 points, supported by Aris Dionisio (22 points) and Ian Sangalang (17 points).
