PBA Season 48 Commissioner's Cup

In a thrilling match at the Aquilino Pimentel International Convention Center in Cagayan de Oro City, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters put an end to Magnolia’s impressive seven-game winning streak in the PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup. They emerged victorious with a close 113-110 win on Saturday.

Demetrius Treadwell, standing tall at 6-foot-7, showcased his exceptional skills by almost achieving a triple-double. He contributed a remarkable 30 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists, further solidifying Rain or Shine’s own winning streak, which now stands at three games.

Treadwell’s dominance in the game was evident, particularly in the front court where he outperformed the Magnolia players. In the dying seconds of the match, he secured an important rebound after Andrei Caracut’s missed free throw. Treadwell then calmly sank his own free throw, extending Rain or Shine’s lead and ultimately sealing their victory.

Caracut, on the other hand, led the local players in scoring with 15 points and also showcased his playmaking abilities by dishing out six assists.

Despite leading in bench scoring with a 53-42 advantage, Magnolia’s five additional turnovers proved costly as they surrendered 25 points off their errors.

Tyler Bey’s impressive double-double performance of 30 points and 11 rebounds was not sufficient to maintain Magnolia’s flawless record in the season-opening conference.

Contributing to the losing effort, Paul Lee provided a notable 22 points off the bench.
