Terrafirma Dyip got rolling and racked up three consecutive wins at the start of Leg 3 to book a return trip to the quarterfinals of the PBA 3×3 Lakas ng Tatlo Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
The Dyip rode on the inspired performances of Terrence Tumalip, Dhon Reverente, Matt Salem and Jebb Bulawan to take down Leg 2 winner Meralco, 22-18, then follow up with victories over Pioneer Pro Tibay, 17-14, and NorthPort, 21-11, in Pool A action.
Reverente came through with a timely And-1 play then Bulawan hit a deuce to power Terrafirma past Meralco. Tumalip fired seven as the Dyip made it 2-0 a few hours later before Salem waxed hot with five two-balls to lead them to a perfect slate.
The Dyip shoot for a four-game sweep of Pool A against the Zamboanga Valientes Sunday before competing in their third straight quarterfinal appearance.
Meanwhile, Pool B squad Sista Super Sealers and Pool C’s Purefoods TJ Titans joined the march of early quarterfinal-qualifiers after going 2-nil in their respective groups.
The Bolts crew of Anton Asistio, Alfred Batino, Dexter Maiquez and Joseph Sedurifa quickly got back on their feet and demolished their next two opponents, Zamboanga (21-8), and Pioneer (21-6) for second in the five-team Pool A. Pioneer ran third with 2-2 ahead of NorthPort’s 1-2.
The Titans, with Joseph Eriobu taking the cudgels with 14 markers, defeated Cavitex, 21-13, then with Pao Javelona providing the endgame spark, returned with a 20-17 winning result versus Limitless App.
