WATCH: Interview with Best Player Paul Lee [Magnolia vs Meralco | July 2, 2023]

PBA on Tour

Still no stopping the Magnolia Chicken Timplados freight train.

Riding on the fiery bombing run of Paul Lee, the Hotshots stayed unblemished in the PBA on Tour, taking Meralco as their seventh victim via a 121-101 thrashing Sunday night at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Lee came off the bench to deliver a 28-point sizzler spiked by a 7-of-9 marksmanship from beyond the arc in just 19 minutes of court action and spark the Hotshots to yet another comprehensive victory.

Lee’s imprint was felt most late in the second canto when he knocked down three consecutive triples that led to a game-changing 17-1 exchange and propelled Magnolia to a 27-18 tear after trailing by seven.

The no-quit Bolts managed to threaten to within 73-69 in the third but Chito Victolero’s troops countered with 12 unanswered points capped by a Lee trey to restore a 16-point cushion.

Solid performances surrounded Lee’s eruption.

Jio Jalalon shot 18 with six assists as he and James Laput (14), Mark Barroca (12), Jerrick Ahanmisi (11) and Joseph Eriobu (11) joined the “Angas ng Tondo” in the team’s double-digit scorers’ parade.
