PBA games to be shown live on A2Z

The PBA has a new television partner for the upcoming season.

In an effort to broadcast all of its games on free television, the league will air Season 48 games on A2Z.

Tuesday at the Diamond Hotel, TV5 president Guido Zaballero announced the new partnership during a press conference for the upcoming PBA season.

“The primary reason is we believe the PBA needs a dedicated home and we saw the possibility with ZOE,” said Zaballero.

ABS-CBN and Bro. Eddie Villanueva’s ZOE Broadcasting Network will now broadcast the games every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The weekday game times are 4:00pm and 8:00pm, while the weekend game times are 3:00pm and 6:15pm.

Previously, PBA games were shown live on TV5 and One Sports for free. One Sports will continue to broadcast the games, but on a delayed basis. According to Caballero, TV5 will now be devoted solely to entertainment.

“So meron na tayong solid entertainment and news channel, and meron na rin kaming sports channel. So it’s a good balance.”

In cable programming, the games will continue to be broadcasted on PBA Rush, a channel dedicated to the entire league. Games can also be viewed on the Pilipinas Live website and app.
